Apologies for the dormant state

Dear all,

As of 2012, we are starting to reinvigorate our blog. We have not been updating our blog as much as we want as we have had a new member to our family, namely Daniel our new born son. Since then most attention was diverted to him.

Here a pic of him :)



Anyway, with him more or less sorted and everything more or less falling back into place, I am now putting some effort into updating this blog as soon as I am able to .

So without further ado, we present some of the new arrivals.

Born to Bert and Candy are 2 beautiful standard grey baby kits.





One of them is a male and the other is a female. We tend to not name them and allow prospective owners to name them, thus making them more personal to their new owners :)

We also have some chinchillas who are ready to go as they are about 4 to 5 months old. Mostly Beige in colour, here is one of them together with one of our violet chinchillas.

Pictures of the new additions

Well I managed to take some picture of the kits that were born this week and last.

First off, we have the our new violet chin Mio with mum and dad :) Looks like parents are grooming baby Mio :)





In another cage, Peach and James are proud parents of 5 baby kits!!!

Managed to lure mum away for a moment to get this picture. She came back shortly after and so couldnt take another clearer one. We'll wait till they are about a week old before taking some proper pictures of them :)

News from NEC(North East Chins)

Well, I have not been doing much of an updating since Easter. Much have occurred since then :)

Here are the new developments.

James & Winnie have a Hetro Beige Boy

Clay & Cotton have 3 Pink White kits, 2 female and 1 male

Clay & Star have a standard grey boy and a hetro beige girl

Karl & Bubbles' kits are ready to leave mum this week

and finally,

Lambo & Flo have a violet kit this morning :)

Looks like its the chinchilla mating season lol

Easter Holiday Break

Baby week

Prior to our latest blurb, Yet another chin has given birth. Must be mating season lol.

Anyway Cotton has given birth to 3 pink white kits yesterday (2 female and 1 male)

All doing well, Cotton and Star are helping out nursing one another's kits which is quite sweet of them :P

Will add some pictures when they are more comfortable with me moving them or touching them :)

New Developments & New Arrivals

Its been a busy month this month as 2 females have give birth to kits.

James & Winnie are now proud parents of a newly born Hetro-Beige Male kit

Clay & Star have also produced 2 kits, a female hetro-beige and a standard grey male kit.

Meanwhile Cotton is pregnant and is likely to give birth soon.

2 kits born to Bubble - 18th March 2011

Bubble gave birth to her first set of twins yesterday morning. She is doing fine at the moment and we have managed to get a picture of her after arriving home from work yesterday.

2 standard grey kits born to Karl and Bubble. We will determine their gender at a later stage.

Bubbles pregnant

Earl's partner Bubbles is pregnant and she looks very big and swollen. As this is her first pregnancy, lets pray everything goes smoothly for her. Expected delivery date would be sometime late march or early april.

Will need to prepare the cage for the babies and remove dad as well as she is quite fierce towards him.

New Resident Chinchilla

We took in a new chinchilla, Bert a few months ago but we have not introduced him on the site. He is a elderly chin, about 12 years old.

He does look a little scruffy but is eating and drinking properly. He particularly likes to chew willow sticks to little bits and enjoy eating hay much more than pellets.

I was hoping that his fur would improve over time and he will look fluffy once again.

He doesnt like being held very much at the moment and is reluctant to come out from his cage. I have tried to introduce him to one of my other young chins but I guess he prefers to stay along and watch the world go by.



Will put more updates about him as we monitor his progress. :)

Chinchilla Kits reserved

We have a last chinchilla kit who isn't reserved (yes, all others have been reserved already) and he is the standard grey male chinchilla, born to star and clay. He will be ready on the 21st of march 2011.

Meanwhile i do not foresee any more kits being born until maybe march or april period. Thank you all for your interest and support so far :)

Star has given birth (27th Dec 2010)

Star, our standard grey chinchilla has given birth to 2 healthy male baby kits. One of them is a hetro-beige and the other is a standard grey. We'll get some pictures up once they start running around.

Ready in 2011

New kits available in the upcoming year. 

1) Beige male born on the 22nd of November. 2nd from the left. We will determine if he is a homo or hetro beige as he grows older as his fur is not fully matured yet

Star, the chinchilla in the middle is pregnant and we are watching her carefully to see her new kits :)

For sale :)

We have 2 chinchillas for sale and they are ready for collection.

First off is Kelvin, a HetroBeige male chinchilla. He is born on the 21st of August 2008 and is 2 years old. He is not a large chinchilla, and loves running on the exercise wheel. I believe he is the only chinchilla which jogs regularly.

He is a very fast runner and is very active once out of his cage. relatively tame but does not like to be handled too often. If you sit quietly, he will hop on you and allow you to feed it treats or pet it. 

He is pretty greedy and tends to eat rather quickly, often gobbling down treats such as raisin or his wheat bites.

He is for sale for £60.

Next is our resident favourite, Shadow. He is a Golden Mosaic and is born on the 23rd of August 2010 and is about 15 weeks old. He is very tame and will sit on your lap watching the world go by if he is bored. Or if you feed him a mini wheat bite, he will sit on your lap quietly and eat it all up.

He is handled everyday and very tame (once he gets to know you). He has no problems about being approached or picked up.

Although he is tame, he is active when let out to run and will jump and climb all over the place, exploring every corner of the room.

He is for sale for £70

Pink White (Homo) & Hetro Beige

Pictures taken of mum (Cotton) and 2 babies, Mum's doing well and so are the new kits. Didnt want to disturb them from resting so I only took pictures from the outside of their house. Might take more when the kits start running around.

 

new arrivals

Cotton have given birth to kit(s) today and we have got a new violet chin in our herd. Cotton's doing well and we might be able to see how many kits there are when we get back today.

Pictures of new kits

Finally gotten down to taking pictures of the new... well not so new as they are 3 weeks old. Nevertheless, managed to take some pictures of them.

They will be ready on the 16th on January 2011. Reservations are welcome. Do come make an appointment with us should you want to have a look at them. Enjoy :)

Hetrozygous Beige Chin reserved

Out hetrozygous-beige has been reserved. Meanwhile other 3 chinchillas will be ready in January 2011. They are doing fine and suckling at the moment. Would be buyers are welcome to view they but note that they will only be ready to leave their mum at 12 weeks old (minimum)

Will post more on them at a later date.

Sunday Morning

Woke up this morning and found the 2 teenage chinchillas very active and hopping around. Decided to take a video of them bathing.

They normally use the plastic chinchilla bath house but i found the design to be not very good as the opening is in front and when they roll about, most of the powder/dust will fly out and be wasted.

So I decided to improvise and use a biscuit tin, which is better than the designated chinchilla bah bouse sold in pet stores.
